I've always been a foodie. But for me, food was never just about eating — it was about a feeling. Growing up, dosa was my favorite. Not just any dosa… my mother’s dosa. She would stand in the kitchen and make them fresh, one by one, serving them hot directly on my plate. I would sit and eat, waiting for the next one. That taste, that warmth, that care — it stayed with me. Even today, I can still remember it exactly.
Years later, during my post-graduation, one day I had a sudden craving for dosa. Like most people do, I bought ready-made idli dosa batter. I made it, ate it… but something was missing.
That moment stayed with me. It wasn’t just about taste. I realized I wasn’t missing dosa — I was missing the feeling of home.
After completing my post-graduation, I returned to my hometown, Raichur. One day, the craving hit again. I asked my mother to make dosa.
So I stepped out. I went to a hotel — it didn’t satisfy me. I went to a supermarket — there was no batter available. I searched locally — whatever I found was unhygienic and inconsistent.
“Why is something so basic, so essential, not easily available with quality and trust — especially in cities like ours?”
In bigger cities, options existed. But in Tier-2 cities like Raichur, there was a clear gap. That day, the idea for Mamma’s Soul was born.
My goal is simple — whenever someone buys Mamma’s Soul batter and makes idlis or dosas, it should remind them of their mother’s cooking.
Because we don’t make batter like hotels. We don’t chase that commercial taste. We make it the way it’s made at home — with natural fermentation, honest ingredients, and patience. The softness of idlis, the aroma of dosa on a hot pan, the comfort of a familiar taste every time… That’s what we stand for.
Mamma’s Soul is built on that one emotion: food that feels like it’s made by your mother. Because for me, this is not just a business. It’s personal. And every pack we make carries that same intention — to bring back the taste, the trust, and the soul of real food.
